Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To efficiently oxidize phosphite ions, by applying electrolytic oxidizing treatment to a waste plating liquid containing the phosphite ions while potential is alternately varied between an oxidizing potential region and a non-oxidizing potential region. CONSTITUTION:In applying electrolytic oxidizing treatment to a waste plating liquid containing phosphite ions, the potential of an anode composed of platinum, platinum plated titanium or palladium is alternately varied between a phosphite ion oxidizing potential region and a phosphite ion non-oxidizing region lower than said region in potential. The electrolytic oxidizing treatment is performed under such a condition that pH is 3-10 and temp. is ambient temp. - 70 deg.C. By this method, the phosphite ions can be efficiently oxidized to orthophosphate ions.
