High speed page input/output system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration of execution performance even to a program in which a replaced page selection means is not expected by a page to be outputted from a primary storage device to a secondary storage device into a page buffer related to an associated storage device and managing it. CONSTITUTION:A replacement page selection means 1 receives notice of page fault occurrence, selects a replaced page to be outputted for a low frequency of occurrence in the primary storage device 2 and stored in a buffer 8 via an associate storage device 7 by a storage means 6. Then the means 1 applies inquiry by a retrieval means 5, the means 5 retrieves the buffer 8 via the device 7. When the page to be subject to page input exists, the means 5 sends the page to the device 2 to execute the process causing the page fault.
