Heat fixing device in electrophotographic copying machine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the separatability of a copy paper and to improve the offset capacity by forming the peripheral part of a roll, which applies a pressure to the copy paper, with a brush having many projecting fibers to reduce the amount of heat discharged from a heat fixing roll to the pressure roll. CONSTITUTION:A heat fixing roll 30 is provided with core bar 301, a 'Teflon(R)' layer 302 around the outer peripheral part of the core bar 301, and a heater 303 in the core bar 301, and the peripheral part of a pressure roll 40 which applies a pressure to a copy paper 20 is formed with a brush 410 having many projecting fibers 411. At the time of operation, the copy paper 20 is guided by a guiding plate 21 and is clamped between rolls 30 and 40 and is carried. The brush 410 is brought into contact with the rear face 202 of the paper 20 to press the rear face to the roll 30, and one face 201 of the paper is abutted against the roll 30. A toner image 10 formed on the face 201 is fused by the heat from the roll 30 and is fixed on the face 201. Thereafter, the paper 20 is separated from the roll 0 and is led to a carrying device.
