Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a sponge which can be easily reconstituted with water from dry and hard state to wet and soft state, by attaching a specific polyvinyl alcohol to a sponge composed of a polyvinyl acetal resin using a specific method. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol having an average polymerization degree of >=1,700 and a saponification degree of >=98.5mol% is applied to a sponge composed of a polyvinyl acetal resin, dried and heat-set at 120-130 deg.C. The polyvinyl alcohol is insolubilized to water and attached to the sponge at a ratio of <=5wt% by this process.
