Microwave diode switching circuit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the dispersion in the assembling result by forming a high frequency ground face in the same plane as the plane of a strip line so as to eliminate the need for splitting the board. CONSTITUTION:A sectorial 1/4 wavelength open stub 10 is formed at both sides in a direction crossing to a strip line 1 on the way of the strip line 1, a PIN diode chip 4 is connected at the midpoint of the stub 10 and the chip 4 is bonded to the strip line 1 by a wire 5. That is, the high frequency ground face of the PIN diode is formed to the plane formed with the strip line 1 of the board 6 similarly by the sectorial open stub 10 offering a low impedance at a broad band and realizing a high Q. Since the strip line 1 is connected to common (ground) in terms of DC, a DC blocking capacitor is not required in the connection with other circuits (phase shifter and mixer or the like).
