Parental locking method for tv receiving set

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To surely keep secrecy by a simple method by displaying a scrambled parental lock code when a TV receiving set is in a special state and at the same time, an operation section and an output terminal are in a predetermined state. CONSTITUTION:When a user forgot the parental lock code, by making the state of an operation section and an output terminal, such as power source is made after setting the operation section and output terminal to predetermined state (preferably a state that cannot occur in normal state of use), parental lock code of the TV receiving set is made possible to display on the display unit of an operation panel section or on a screen. In case where the display on the operation panel or screen is not indicating the parental lock code it self but a scrambled code, the parental lock code can be known on the basis of the scrambled code.
