Anticoagulant polymeric material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title material excellent in strength, moldability and durability and useful as a material for medical appliances and instruments in contact with blood, by graft-copolymerizing a polyol having an NH2 group on one end, etc. with a segmented polyurethane obtained by reacting a specified reaction product with a diamine or a diol. CONSTITUTION:An internally epoxidized diol (a) such as a polybutadiene diol having an epoxy group within the molecular and OH groups on both ends is reacted with a diisocyanate compound (b) such as diphenylmethane diisocyanate to obtain a urethane prepolymer (A) as a reaction product. An NH2 group- terminated polyol (C) of a number-average MW of 200-8,000, such as one represented by formula I (wherein n is an integer) or a polyol (C') having an OH group on one end of a number-average MW of 200-8,000, such as one represented by formula II, is graft-copolymerized with a segmented polyurethane (B) obtained by reacting component A with a diamine or diol to obtain the titled material comprising a segmented grafted polyurethane.
