Method for correcting coordinates of coordinate detector
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To correct the variance caused by the variance of resistance value of a plane resistor between the input coordinates and the detected coordinates, by dividing an input plane into small areas and giving the affine conversion for correction to the detected coordinates for each of those small areas. CONSTITUTION:When a phase difference theta is obtained from a phase detector 14, a processor MPU 16 calculates the coordinates X and Y from an equation and starts the prescribed processing. A coordinate table of a ROM 17 is read to check the position of an input point among the rows set in the direction X. So is with the direction Y. Thus a pair of triangular areas where an input point exists are obtained. The numbers x1-x5 of the direction X and y1-y5 of the direction Y are added to the triangular areas. Then the MPU 16 decides one of both triangular areas where the input point exists by means of the detected coordinates X and Y of the input point as well as the area coordinates. Thus a rectangular area including the input point is specified. Then the MPU 16 reads the correction parameter corresponding to the specified rectangular are out of the ROM 17. Furthermore the accurate input coordinates (x) and (y) are obtained from both coordinates X and Y via a prescribed affine conversion equation.
