Magnetic disk driving device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disk driving device in which the possibility of accidental erasure is precluded even with mis-track by using a track identification signal written in a recording track so as to identify the recording track and a servo track at formatting. CONSTITUTION:Whether or not a track is a track subjected to formatting is discriminated by detecting the presence of a track identification signal P and the formatting is executed only when the track identification signal P is detected. That is, a signal detected by a magnetic head 2 is amplified via a head amplifier 21 and a band pass filter 40, an envelope detector 43 and a comparator 41 discriminate the track identification signal P. When the track identification signal P is confirmed, a format enable signal is sent from a detection circuit 42 to a driving circuit 22 to apply formatting. Thus, even if a magnetic head 2 steps out in mistake, since servo tracks ST1-ST4 are not formatted, the possibility of erasure of a servo signal F is precluded.
