Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To speed up recording and to obtain the comparatively compact constitution of a whole device by transferring a toner image from one recording medium drum to the other recording medium drum. CONSTITUTION:The outer periphery of a 1st recording medium drum 1a is destaticized by an electrifier 12, cleaned by a cleaning device 8 and set up to proper potential by an electrifier 3. Ions are radiated to the outer periphery by an electrostatic recording head 2 to form an electrostatic latent image and then the latent image is developed by a developing device 4a to form a red toner image. The toner image is transferred to a 2nd recording medium drum 1b at an externally contacting part with the drum 1b. The outer periphery of the drum 1b is set up to a proper potential by an electrifier 13, an electrostatic latent image is formed by the head 2 and a black toner image is formed by a developing device 4b so as to be superposed to the red toner image already transferred to the outer periphery. The two toner images are simultaneously transferred to recording paper 7 by a transfer means 9.
