Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain an antenna diagnosis without an opposite antenna, with a good reproducibility and rapidly by changing over respective elements on an active array antenna to the transmitting condition, receiving condition and non-action condition. CONSTITUTION:When the diagnosis of an element #2 and an element #3 is executed, a transmitting receiving module 11 of the element #2 is made into a transmitting condition, the transmitting receiving module 11 of the element #3 is made into a receiving condition and all elements except the element #2 and the element #3 are made into a non-action condition. When a power is supplied through a circulator 10 to a sample antenna 4, an electromagnetic wave radiated from the element #2 of the transmitting condition is transmitted to the element #3 of the receiving condition and the power is supplied through the circulator 10 to a phase amplitude receiver 7 again. The amplitude and phase of the mutual linkage of the element #2 and the element #3 measured by the phase amplitude receiver 7 are compared and corresponded with the amplitude and phase measured under the same conditions at the action starting time point as a reference value in a diagnosing circuit 9 and the diagnosis of the exciting amplitude and phase of the element can be performed.
