Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and to achieve cost reduction, by constituting the title printer so that the set content of a specific mode is selected corresponding to the moving position of a printing head and set by switch operation at said position. CONSTITUTION:When a character pitch is set, an on-line state is set by a switch 1 and the switch 1 is continuously pushed for a definite time or more. By this operation, change-over output is generated from a mode control circuit 5 and output control circuit 6, 7 are respectively brought to non-operative and operative states. That is, the functions of switches 1-4 are changed over. For example, when printing is desired to be performed at the fixed character pitch of 10CPI, the printing head 12 is moved to the position of the numeral 10 written on a paper press bar 13 by operating switches 3, 4. Whereupon, the indication data of character pitch 10CPI corresponding to the position of the head 12 is generated from a character pitch indication circuit 9. When the switch 2 is operated at this time, the above mentioned data is set to a character pitch setting circuit 10 and, at the same time, the switches 1-4 come to original functions.
