Manufacture of composite magnet
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a composite magnet having extremely stable magnetic properties and mechanical characteristics by adding in advance an antioxidant thereto before magnetic powder and binder are kneaded. CONSTITUTION:Before magnetic powder ands binder are kneaded, amine antioxidant is added and mixed. Rare earth element powders of sammarium and cobalt represented by general formulae RCo5 and R2Co17 and alloy powder represented by R1T14B, where R is at least one type of rare earth elements including yttrium, T is transient metal, and B is boron. The particle size of the magnetic powder is not particularly limited, but both the rare earth metal powder and the R2T14B powder are preferably 1-100mum from the point of view of magnetic characteristics. The antioxidant includes, for example, N-n-butyl-p-aminophenyl, N,N'-di-sec-butyl-phenylenediamine, etc. If the quantity of the antioxidant to be used is too small, favorable effects cannot be expected, and on the other hand if it is too large the magnetic characteristics may disadvantageously be deteriorated. 0.01-0.5wt.% is preferably with respect to the mixture amount of the magnetic powder and the resin, but it is not particularly limited.
