Voltage/current converting circuit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To convert the value of an output current from 0 by supplying a specific current from the base side of a 1st transistor(TR) to the base side of a 2nd TR in an impedance means wherein the bases of the 1st and 2nd TRs are connected to each other. CONSTITUTION:A current flows from a constant current source 17 to the impedance means 13 and a specific potential difference is generated across the impedance means 13. The base potential of the TR 14 is therefore the potential difference lower than the base potential of the TR 11. Here, when the resistance value of the impedance means 13 and the value of the constant current source 17 are so set that the value of the potential difference across the impedance means 13 is equal to the base-emitter voltage Vbe of an NPN TR, the voltage at the output terminal of a differential amplifier circuit 10 is boosted above the voltage Vbe and then the collector current of the TR 14 begins to flow. An output current Iout from an output terminal 15 is therefore 0 when an input voltage Vin is as high as the Vbe and a current Iout is outputted from 0.
