Fuel feeder
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent stoppage of fuel supply due to shifting of fuel by arranging a first filter at the lower section of sub-tank and a second filter above intake port of fuel pump arranged in the sub-tank. CONSTITUTION:A sub-tank 2 is filled with fuel under normal operation. Fuel is sucked by a fuel pump 3 through a first filter F1 and fed through a delivery port 5. Return fuel is led through a return pipe 7 into the sub-tank 2. When fuel is shifted to one side due to cornering, a portion of the first filter F1 separates from the liquid face. The first filter F1 has higher fuel pass resistance than that of the second filter F2, because it is wetted with fuel. Consequently, fuel in the sub-tank passes through the second filter F2 and sucked by the fuel pump 3 through the intake port 4.
