Piezoelectric driving device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To facilitate the regulation and treatment of oscillation, by forming an oscillator with an almost square-formed cross section, and by applying high- frequency voltages in different phases to piezoelectric element sections arranged on two adjacent surfaces of the oscillator. CONSTITUTION:In a piezoelectric driving device, two surfaces adjacent to each other which are formed with elastic material in the shape of a rod with the almost square-formed cross section are provided with piezoelectric element sections 3, and an oscillator 1 bending-oscillating by applying high-frequency voltage to the sections 3, a power-supply device 4 for setting a phase difference between said element sections 3 and applying said voltage, and a contact member 5 are arranged, and the contact member 5 (or the oscillator 1) is driven. As a result, when the high-frequency voltage is applied to the respective piezoelectric element sections 31, 32 of the oscillator 1, then each oscillator 1 is oscillated in the vertical and horizontal directions, and its tip section is moved forming a circular or elliptical track. Accordingly, when the contact member 5 is set to come in contact with a frictional member 6 on the one surface of the oscillator 1, then the contact member 5 is linearly moved in the direction of an arrow head P.
