Method for joining heat resistant materials
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the joining strength of the diffusion-joined joining surfaces by cleaning the joining surfaces of Ni base super alloys and depositing Ni thin films thereon and afterward, interposing Ni base alloy powder to perform the hot isostatic pressing process. CONSTITUTION:Ni ions with the high energy are projected on the joining surfaces of the Ni base super alloys A and B in a vacuum to remove oxide films, adsorbed atoms, etc., on the surfaces. Then, continuously, the energy of the Ni ions is reduced in the vacuum and the Ni thin films 3 and 3' with the thickness <=20mu are deposited on the joining surfaces. Next, the joining surfaces on which the Ni thin films 3 and 3' are formed are arranged in opposition with a prescribed gap between and the Ni base super alloy powder 2 is filled in this gap. Then, after the gap is deaerated and sealed up, the hot isostatic pressing process is performed and the two surfaces with the Ni thin films 3 and 3' of the Ni base alloys A and B are subjected to the diffusion joining.
