Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable sure judgment by judging the time when the reducing quantity of the rotating speed of driven wheels at a minute time of off of a brake lamp becomes above a defined value to be the time of the occurrence of hydro- planing which prevent the transmission of driving force to a road face due to the effect of a water film between tires and said road face. CONSTITUTION:During the operation of a vehicle, change in the rotating speed signals of front wheels (difference in rotating speed) outputted from a rotating speed sensor 10, in a minute time interval is obtained by a microcomputer 14 and this difference in rotating speed V is compared with a previously set value (a). When V>=(a), it is judged whether a brake lamp switch 12 is ON or not, and if the rotating speed of the front wheels is suddenly lowered in this minute time when the switch 12 is OFF, i.e., without brakes being applied to the front wheels, it is judged that hydro-planing phenomenon has occurred and a warning 16 is driven, emitting an alarm.
