Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the burden of an operator by providing an additional control information memory composed of a non-volatile memory and permitting to remove an optical disk only when an optical disk device can record to the optical disk. CONSTITUTION:An additional control information memory 12 composed of EEPROM is provided, and only when an optical disk device 18 can record to an optical disk, to remove the optical disk is permitted, and the file control information stored into the additional control information memory 12 is recorded to the control information recording area of the optical disk immediately before the optical disk is removed. Thus, it is not necessary to prepare a recording medium except the optical disk to store the fine control information such as a floppy disk and by saving a trouble to exchange other recording medium when the optical disk is exchanged, therefore, the burden of the operator can be decreased.
