Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To permit transfer with a low impressed voltage and to eliminate the possibility of generating a spark discharge so that good-quality image is obtd. by using a conductive and elastic transfer roller which comes into contact with an image body to the transfer position of an image device provided with an amorphous silicon photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 1 is provided with the amorphous silicon photosensitive layer constituted by laminating an electric charge injection prohibitive layer, photoconductive layer and surface protective layer on the surface of an aluminum substrate. The conductive roller formed by winding EPDM rubber on a stainless steel arbor and winding conductive rack skin thereon is used for the transfer roller 5 which comes into contact with the photosensitive in the transfer position in contact with the photosensitive body. Generation of the spark discharge is thereby surely prohibited and the lowering of the transfer potential is permitted; in addition, the good-quality image is obtd. and the constitution of the transfer and sepn. part to the smaller size is permitted.
