Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To produce an insoluble anode having very high electrolytic efficiency by coating a Ti substrate with Mo, further coating it with an alloy of Pt with a Pt group metal other than Pt by wire explosion spraying and carrying out internal oxidation treatment under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:When an insoluble anode having a film of the oxides of Pt and a Pt group metal other than Pt on the Ti substrate is produced, a Ti substrate is first coated with Mo. The Mo coated substrate is then coated with an alloy of Pt with a Pt group metal other than Pt, e.g., Pd by wire explosion spraying with a wire or sheet of the alloy and internal oxidation treatment is carried out at 300-900 deg.C under >=1/5atm. partial pressure of oxygen for >=about 30min. Thus, a coat of the oxides of Pt and the Pt group metal can be easily formed in a short time and an insoluble anode having very high surface roughness and high electrolytic efficiency is obtd.
