Magneto-optical disk
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To permit over writing by using a magnetic head to impress a magnetic field to a magneto-optical disk formed with a 1st protective film, recording film and 2nd protective film on a transparent substrate and providing a protective film for head crush resistance on the 2nd protective film. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical disk 14 is formed by laminating the 1st protective film 9, the recording film 10 and the 2nd protective film 11 on the transparent substrate 8. The disk 14 formed in such a manner is fixed to a spindle 15 and rotates at a high speed. On the other hand, the laser light from a light source 16 is condensed by a lens and is projected on the recording film of the disk 14. The magnetic head 1 floating apart a slight distance from the disk exists on the side opposite from the irradiated position to impress the magnetic field perpendicularly to the irradiated position. The over writing and the high-speed information processing are thereby permitted.
