Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To secure the cavitation force property of a beat generator, by keeping the temp. of the recording liquid in the vicinity of a heat energy generating part to a specific temp. or more when the water-soluble recording liquid is used. CONSTITUTION:For example, substrates 2a, 2b has seal parts 9 provided to both ends thereof and also has recording liquid supply grooves 10 at the centers thereof and bonded to a base 3 so that the heat generators 6 on each of the substrates are arranged in a zigzag pattern. A gap plate 4 and a nozzle plate 5 are bonded on the substrates. A recording liquid is sent to a recording liquid sump 13 from a supply pipe 1 and passes through the recording liquid supply grooves 10 to be supplied to the gaps between the substrates 2a, 2b and the nozzle plate 5. Power is intermittently supplied to the heat generators to generate Joule heat and the recording liquid brought into contact with the surfaces of the heat generators 6 generates sudden film boiling and recording liquid droplets are emitted from recording liquid emitting orifices 7 by the change in the pressure of the recording liquid. By this constitution, the temp. of the recording liquid in the vicinity of a heat generating part is held to 70 deg.C or more and the internal pressure of air bubbles rises and cavitation force is reduced to a large extent and the durability of the heat generators rises to a large extent.
