Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the time required for data transmission including the time required for error correction by deciding the frame length used for a control procedure depending on the quality of line in a communication control equipment for data transmission using the HDLC procedure provided with an arithmetic section and a storage section. CONSTITUTION:A line connection section 6 applies level conversion of the interface with a MODEM provided at each communication line and bit synchronization or the like, and the arithmetic section 1 uses a microprogram of a storage section 2 and applies control such as error control/flow control/sequence control/ format control/time supervision or the like according to the HDLC transmission control means. The correspondence checked in advance between the number of occurrence of errors per unit time and the frame length minimizing the data transmission time is stored in a table 4 of a frame length deciding section 3, a line quality supervising section 5 obtains the number of times of occurrence of errors per unit time obtained from the processing state of the error control in the arithmetic section 1, obtains the frame length minimizing the data transmission time from the table 4 and gives them to the arithmetic section 1, which applies the format control by the frame length obtained in this way.
