Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a stable output, and further, to prevent the attraction of a magnetic head to a magnetic recording disk, even if the floating-up quantity of the magnetic head is micronized by giving a groove to a slider surface so that its surface roughness comes to be 0.005-0.02mum. CONSTITUTION:The groove is given to the surface of the slider 2 of the magnetic head 1 by a lapping tape, in a direction that the magnetic recording disk 9 passes through at the time of a rotation. The surface roughness is made to be within the range of 0.005-0.02mum. When it is <=0.005mum, an effect to prevent the attraction of the magnetic head 1 to the magnetic recording disk 9 is not enough, and when it is >=0.02mum, a friction between the slider 2 and the magnetic recording disk 9 at the time of a starting and a stopping comes large. Thus, because a distance between a magnetic substance thin film 7 and the magnetic head 1 can be kept constant, the stable output can be obtained even if the floating-up quantity is micronized, and a high density recording is possible.
