Microstrip line filter
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the attenuation characteristic at a frequency being an odd number of multiple of the fundamental frequency by coupling 1/2 wavelength resonator elements each of which is formed by opening both ends of a microstrip line at specific positions. CONSTITUTION:The resonator elements 1, an input terminal 2 and an output terminal 3 are formed on a dielectric base 4, the total length(l) of each resonator element 1 is selected to a 1/2 wavelength and its both ends are opened, and coupled at a position of l/2n (n is an odd number) from the open end. That is, in the electric field distribution at a frequency nf0 being an odd number (n) multiple of the fundamental frequency f0 on the resonator 1, a position where the electric field having the frequency nf0 is minimized is selected and the resonator elements 1 are coupled at the position. Thus, a filter passing the fundamental frequency f0 only and suppressing the nf0 component is constituted. Thus, the microstrip line filter suppressing the frequency component being an odd number of multiple of the fundamental frequency is obtained.
