Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To transmit both sound and digital signals at a time without deteriorat ing the quality of the sound signals, by transmitting the data signals when the sound signals are kept at low levels and the voice information is scarcely available. CONSTITUTION:The sound signals of a terminal 2 are converted into digital signals formed into framed by a voice coding circuit 4. Each frame includes a frame synchronizing signal, the parameter information and the voice informa tion. Then the digital signals are supplied to a substitute frame detecting circuit 5 and the data on a terminal 3 are supplied to a buffer circuit 6 to be stored there temporarily. The output digital signals of the circuit 4 are supplied to a transmission circuit 8 via a substituting circuit 7 in the form of a modulated input and transmitted through a transmission antenna. The circuit 5 monitors the power parameter contained in the digital signal and detects a frame showing that the sound signals are kept at levels lower than the prescribed one. The circuit 7 reads the voice information out of the circuit 6 and substitutes for data signals to apply them to the circuit 8.
