Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To suppress the intensive noises by separating the mixture light of the received light and the locally oscillated light into the polarized components orthogonal to each other and sending obtained four output beams to a synthesizing part via a light receiving element to obtain the difference between the output signals of light receiving elements having the same phase in terms of the intensive noise component of the locally oscillated light. CONSTITUTION:The light received from a transmission part 11 is mixed with the locally oscillated light received from a local oscillation laser 14 by a mixer 13. The output light of the mixer 13 is separated into P and S weaves by polarized prisms 15 and 16. Then the P wave is made incident on light receiving elements 18 and 19; while the S wave is made incident on light receiving elements 17 and 20 respectively. In this case, the intensive noise components have the same phase between the locally oscillated light made incident on the elements 18 and 19 and that made incident on the element 17 and 20. Therefore the intensive noise component of the locally oscillated light is suppressed and the beat signal components are applied to amplifiers 21 and 22 with addition of phases. The outputs of both amplifiers 21 and 22 are synthesized by a synthesizing circuit 23 after control of the phase difference.
