Data transmission system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the immediacy of a data transmission without the reduction of a channel utilization efficiency in a CATV system, etc., by providing a data multiplex section in a part of a sound signal and transmitting it by containing a pilot signal for discriminating the data multiplex section. CONSTITUTION:The pilot signal and the sound signal are composed by means of a time-sharing in adders 14a and 14b. The pilot signal is supplied from a pilot signal generator 20 through a switch 21. The switches 15a and 15b are provided on the path of the sound signal, and a transmitted data is inserted in the part of the period of the sound signal (data multiplex section). The data to be inserted is supplied through a microcomputer 22, an input/output interface 23, a serial data converter 24 and a trap circuit 25. The pilot signal discriminates which of a stereo signal, a bilingual signal or a monoral signal is the sound signal, and whether the pilot signal exists or not shows whether the transmitted data exists or not. The microcomputer 22 controls the operating timing of a whole circuit and the ON-OFF of the switches, etc.
