Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To retrieve a desired picture in a short time only by inputting one bit of retrieval information by one time, by reading and displaying only the picture for medical treatment a priority display mark to from a data base among all pictures for medical; treatment stored in corresponding to the same key word. CONSTITUTION:Retrieval information inputted from a retrieval information input section is filed in a retrieval file 1A in a data base 1 and a picture inputted from picture data input section 3 is stored in a picture file 1B after correlating the picture with the retrieval information through a picture recording and reproducing section 1D. In the case of adding a display priority mark, a retrieval key word is inputted through a retrieval key input section 4. Then a control section 1C reads out the directory of a relevant picture from the file 1A in accordance with the inputted key word. Thereafter, the control section 1C discriminates whether or not the display priority mark is added and, if the mark is added, reads out the picture with the mark only from the file 1B and once or successively displays all pictures on a display 6B.
