Synthesis of diamond by vapor growth method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To accelerate the velocity of deposition of diamond and to increase the deposition area by exciting a carbon source compd. with flashlight when diamond is synthesized by the vapor growth method. CONSTITUTION:When diamond is synthesized by the vapor growth method using a carbon source compd. and a hydrogen source compd., the carbon source compd. is excited with flashlight. The flashlight is generated by a flashlight generating means such as Xe flash lamp, etc. The excitation of the hydrogen source compd. can be performed by several means, but the velocity of depositing diamond and the depositing area of diamond are improved if silent discharge is used.
