Thermoplastic resin composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. having excellent rigidity, moldability and resistance to impact and heat, by blending a specified polyphenylene ether with a polyamide and a (hydrogenated) block copolymer elastomer. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. polyphenylene ether (i) of the formula [wherein Q1, Q2 Q3 and Q4 are each H, halogen, a (halo)hydrocarbon or a (halo) hydrocarbonoxy; n is the total number of monomers and 20 or greather] is reacted with 0.1-20pts.wt. 1,2-substd. olefin compd. (ii) having a carboxyl group or carboxylic acid anhydride structure in the presence of 0.1-30pts.wt. [based on the amount of the component (ii)] radical-generating agent to obtain a polyphenylene ether (a) having a carboxyl group and/or carboxylic acid anhydride structure as part of substituents. 5-95wt% component (a) is blended with 5-90wt% polyamide (b) and 5-60wt% (hydrogenated) A-B-A' block copolymer elastomer (c) (wherein A and A' are each a polymerized hydrocarbon block; and B is a polymerized conjugated block which may be hydrogenated).
