Connecting method for thermoplastic resin pipe
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To connect two thermoplastic resin pipes in a short time, efficiently and at a single process, by using an intermediate pipe prepared with a thermoplastic resin between the two pipes, by rotating the intermediate pipe while a force is being applied on each thermoplastic resin pipe to move the pipes toward the intermediate pipe and by adhering the contacting surfaces together in melting by heat of friction. CONSTITUTION:To connect two thermoplastic resin pipes 1, 1', the pipes 1, 1' are inserted into both receiving mouths 21 of the intermediate pipe 2 and the intermediate pipe 2 is rotated in a high speed while a force inserting the two pipes 1, 1' into the intermediate pipe 2 is being applied to the two pipes 1, 1' without rotating. Heat of friction is thereby generated between the contacting surface and the thermoplastic resin on the contacting surface is molten by this heat. The pipes 1, 1' are deeply inserted into the intermediate pipe 2 as shown is completed, either the rotation of the intermediate pipe 2 is suddenly stopped or the pipes 1, 1' are rotated with the pipe 2 in a body. The pipes 1, 1' are thereby connected with the intermediate pipe 2 in a body by melting.
