Wiping area control unit for wiper device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To control the wiping area of a wiper device via the rotating direction control of a motor by controlling its activation based on the wiping area change signal of a wiper and the predetermined rotation position signal of the wiper. CONSTITUTION:A stop/rotation position detecting means is constituted of the electrode plate 42 of a cam plate 41 interlocked with a wiper blade motor 4 and rotated 360 deg. for one reciprocal motion of a wiper blade and points 43, 44, 45. The point 43 is invariably brought into contact with the electrode plate 42, the point 44 is brought into contact at a notched point U, and the point 45 in the symmetrical angle area centering the notched point U. When the wiping area is to be electrically switched, a transfer switch 6 is turned on to generate a signal, a detecting means is operated as a rotation position detecting means, and the signal of the point 45 is made effective. As a result, a relay contact 9a is shifted at the contact point with the electrode plate 42 via the circuit of a transistor 18, the energizing direction is reversed, the motor 4 is reversed, and the wiping area is changed.
