Linear magnetic scale

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain high accuracy by performing magnetic writing on lengthwise parallel straight lines of a magnetized body so that magnetic patterns are all equal in N-S pole distance. CONSTITUTION:When magnetic patterns (S.N, N.S ... S.N) are projected on a straight line 4 while the error at the time of magnetic writing to the magnetic body 1 is corrected, A and B, B and C ... I and J are at the same distance L0. Then when a sensor as one of components of a magnetic scale runs on the straight line 4, accurate measurement of length, accurate positioning, etc., are facilitated. Further, high accuracy is obtained and low cost is realized without any cumulative error because of simple additional mechanism and circuit constitution.
