Method and apparatus for analyzing composition of chromate treatment solution
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to automatically analyze the concn. of a compositional element, by precipitating and separating the Cr<3+> ion in a chromate treatment solution without precipitating the Cr<6+> ion therein. CONSTITUTION:At first, a chromate treatment solution is injected in a specimen sampling cup 4 from a chromate treatment tank 3 and a definite amount of said solution is injected in a dropper 5 to be dripped on a porous sheet while this sheet is sent into a dryer 8 to be dried and is sent into a fluorescent X-ray analyser 9 to detect fluorescent X-rays of the solute adhered to the sheet to analyze the concn. of each component. At this time, total Cr-concn. is analyzed. The buffer solution is a tank 3 is injected in a reaction tank 10 and a definite amount of the chromate solution is succeedingly sample from the treatment tank 3 to be added to the reaction tank 10. Next, the alkaline aqueous solution in a tank 12 is gradually added to the reaction tank 10 by a supply device 15 to form a Cr(OH)3 precipitate. Subsequently, the solution specimen having the precipitate formed therein is supplied to a filter apparatus 18 to be separated into the precipitate and the solution and the concn. of a Cr<6+> ion is analyzed by the analyser 9. The concn. of the Cr<6+> ion is subtracted from the total Cr-concn. to determine the concn. of a Cr<3+> ion.
