Vehicle speed controller

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten the time necessary for recovering to a target speed by resetting a deviation integrating means for integrating the deviation of a vehicle speed to produce a control signal for an intake air quantity regulating member upon decision of the finish of accelerating operation of driver on the basis of specific vehicle variables. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed controller comprises a deviation integrating means 7 for integrating a deviation between a travel speed of vehicle detected through a vehicle speed detecting means 5 and a control target speed. At least on the basis of the integrated deviation, a drive signal output means 9 will perform drive control of an actuator 3 thus to control the opening of an intake air quantity regulating member 1. Here, on the basis of specific vehicle variables (such as a throttle opening) in the intake air quantity control system or an engine power transmission system, the finish of accelerating operation of a drive is decided to provide an integrated deviation resetting command to the deviation integrating means 7 by means of a rest commanding means 13. Consequently, the time necessary for recovering to the target speed can be shortened.
