Gas separating module

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enhance the permeability and separation capacity of a gas separation system as a whole, by connecting a plurality of gas separation modules and arranging said modules so that the total permeable membrane area of a porous material tube bundle becomes smaller as approaching toward the downstream side of supply gas. CONSTITUTION:Two gas separation modules S1, S2 each receiving a porous glass tube bundle are arranged so as to be connected in series and the total permeable membrane area of the porous glass tube bundle of the module S2 in the downstream side of supply gas is made smaller than that of the module S1 in the upstream side of the supply gas. When the supply gas 2 is supplied to the module S1, a part of said gas 1 transmits through the pores of the porous glass tube bundle to be separated as transmitted gas 2 while non-transmitted gas 3 is supplied to the module S2 to be separated into transmittable gas 4 and non-transmittable gas 5 and, finally, the transmitted gases 2, 4 each comprising a specific component being concentrated and the non-transmitted gas 5 are obtained.
