Obstacle detector for vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to inform the driving car of the information showing the presence or absence of an obstacle necessary for a driver, by providing a plurality of radars around a vehicle and making it possible to select an area requiring monitor in matching relation to the running state of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of radars 1A-1D are provided around a vehicle 8 so as to be capable of respectively covering different monitor areas A-D. The output signals of various switches or sensors 2-5 relating to the running state of the vehicle 8 are inputted to a signal processing circuit 7. A plurality of radars 1A-1D are properly selected according to the running state of the vehicle discriminated by the combination of the output signals of the switches or sensors 2-5 and the obstacle information of a necessary monitor area is displayed on a display device 6.
