Wavelength multiplex optical receiver
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and inexpensive wavelength multiplex optical receiver by constituting a receiver with a branching device branching N-channel of different wavelengths, an N:1 optical switch selecting N-output of the branching device and an photoelectric converter converting the optical signal being an output of the optical switch into an electric signal. CONSTITUTION:The N-channel electric signal is converted into a different wavelength of optical signals by N-set of electroopic converters 2-1 2-N in an optical transmitter 1, the signals are synthesized by a synthesizer 3, branched into M-set of optical fibers by plural demultiplexer devices 5 provided on the way of an optical fiber 4 while passing through the fiber 4, and each optival fiver is connected to an optical receiver 6. The signal is branched into N-set of wavelength channels by an optical branching device 7, one of optical switches 8 is selected and extracted by an photoelectric converter 9 as the original electric signal.
