Air cleaning duct

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for replacing a filter layer and obtain a favorable air cleaning effect for a long time by providing a heater for regenerating activated carbon in a duct in which a filter layer made of said activated carbon is provided. CONSTITUTION:In the captioned device which sucks in air in a car room or open air, cleans the sucked air, and blows out the air again into the car room via a duct, a filter member 4 is provided midway in the duct. This filter member 4 has two cylindrical parts 10, 14 which are connected in alignment to each other with a short-pipe type joining member 16, and a filter layer 1 consisting of activated carbon and asbestos is filled in a space between wire meshes 12, 13 provided on both ends on the inner face side of each of the cylindrical parts 10, 14. An annular heater supporting member 17 made of electrical non-conductor is provided in the middle part of the filter layer 1, and a heater 3 is meanderingly stretched on the member 17. This heater 3 is electrified only during the set time of a timer T after an ignition switch S is turned off.
