Air/fuel ratio controller
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate calibration with a simple construction of a controller, by a method wherein the perimeter of an air/fuel ratio sensor is determined to be filled with atmospheric air when the output of the air/fuel ratio sensor is maintained above a specified value for more than a specified time and a sampling is done at the current maximum output to calibrate output characteristic of the sensor. CONSTITUTION:An intake port 2 is provided to supply an air intake or a mixed air into an internal-combustion engine 1 and an exhaust port 3 to exhaust a gas burned in the engine 1 or a gas in the engine 1. A fuel injector 4 is mounted to the port 2 while an air/fuel ratio sensor 5 arranged at the port 3 and an electronic control unit 6 is connected to the unit 4 and the sensor 5. An output voltage signal from the sensor 5 is applied to a comparator 9, an attenuator 11 and a switch 13b at an analog processing section of the unit 6 once kept at a constant level with a sensor module 7. Switch 13a on the output side of the attenuator 11 and a switch 13b on the module 7 side are controlled and a sampling is done by a digital section 8 at the maximum output when the perimeter of the sensor 5 is filled with atmospheric air.
