Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decide the flow state of powdery particles without interrupting its flow by one or more pairs of electrostatic capacity detecting electrodes composed of a ground electrode and a hot one along the periphery of a powdery particles passing route forming number. CONSTITUTION:A conductive part made of copper foil, etc., is directly stuck to the outer periphery of a resin pipe 3 to form the hot electrode 5 and the ground electrodes 61 and 62. A detecting circuit measures the electrostatic capacity change between the hot electrode 5 and ground ones 61 and 62, thereby deciding the flow state of the powdery particles passing through the pipe 3. With this constitution, the electrodes 5, 61 and 62 being the electrostatic capacity detecting electrode never appear as a projection in the inner path B1 of the pipe 3, and therefore they will not interrupt the passing of the powdery particles 2. As an interval L1 between the electrodes is small, the electrostatic capacity change is larger. However, a distance (h) between powdery particle 2', which can be detected, and the electrode becomes larger as the interval L1 between the electrodes is larger, and a wider range of particles can be monitored. For making both DELTAC and (h) satisfactory, the interval between the electrodes is preferably approximately equal to a particle size (d) and set to L2.
