Wheel for motorcycle
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To measure the wall thickness of a wheel with a high degree of accuracy by means of a simple measuring jig with the use of through-holes, by forming the above-mentioned through-holes in such a manner that both side surfaces of each spoke section near to the rim section are formed therein with two through-holes which are positionally shifted from each other, both through-holes piercing through the spoke section outward and inward, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A wheel 5 is composed of a center hub section 7, a plurality of fork sections extending radially from the hub section 7 and an outer peripheral rim section 9 for mounting thereon a tire, which are integrally formed with each other by casting. For each spoke section 8, two through-holes 14, 15 are formed being positionally shifted from each other in both side surfaces thereof at positions near to the rim section 9, the through-holes 14, 15 piercing through a thin wall part 8 inward and outward to serve as drain holes. When the thin wall part 8a of the spoke section 8 is to be measured, one end part 30a of a wall thickness measuring unit 30 is made into contact with the inner side surface 8b of the thin wall part 8a through the above-mentioned through-hole 14 while the end 30b is made into contact with the outer surface 8c of the thin wall part 8a. Thereby it is possible to measure the wall thickness of the thin wall part 8a with a high degree of accuracy.
