Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve an electromagnetic conversion characteristic by incorporating a compd. having a carboxyl group and sulfo group and specific compd. into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The dispersion of magnetic particles the stabilized and coating property is improved by incorporating an org. dye or pigment having the carboxyl group and/or sulfo group into the magnetic layer. In addition, the compd. expressed by the formula satisfactorily disperses even the magnetic powder having >=30m<3>/gr BET value while maintaining the stability of the magnetic paint with age to improve the surface characteristic of the magnetic layer, etc. and to suppress the blooming of a dispersant. The magnetic material is thereby satisfactory dispersed and the medium having the good electromagnetic conversion characteristic and stable running property is obtd.
