Carburization measuring probe

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate an influence caused by other part than a carburized part, and to execute a measurement with a high reliability by providing a magnet so that a pair of magnetic poles become far and near directions against a material to be inspected, and also providing a dummy piece on the opposite side to the material to be inspected of the magnet. CONSTITUTION:In case a carburized part 17 does not exist in a tube 15, since a dummy piece 14 having a decarbonized layer 18 corresponding to a decarbonized layer 16 of the tube 15 is provided, a line of magnetic force which has been emitted from the N pole side of a magnet 12 passes through roughly in parallel in the part of a Hall element 13 and goes into the S pole side, therefore, an electromotive voltage of the Hall element 13 indicates zero or its near value. In case the carburized part 17 exists, its magnetic permeability is large and also the sectional area is large, therefore, the line of magnetic force which has been emitted from the N pole of the magnet 12 is attracted strongly to the carburized part 17 side, and in the vicinity of the Hall element 13, a magnet line of a magnetic field is inclined in the oblique direction. Accordingly, existence of the carburized part 17 and its depth can be decided from the electromotive voltage which is generated in the Hall element 13.
