Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain interlace read without using an excess memory by connecting the 1st and 2nd horizontal CCDs in parallel to read an odd number field signal and an even number field and feeding sequentially the signal read from the 2nd horizontal CCD to the idle vertical transfer line of a photosensitive section via a transfer CCD. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal CCDs 2, 3 are connected in parallel via gate electrodes 11, 12 and an odd number field, e.g., is fed to the horizontal CCD2 and an even number field, e.g., is fed to the horizontal CCD3 selectively. The electric charge of the odd number field fed to the horizontal CCD2 is fed to a recorder or a display device. The electric charge of the even number field fed to the horizontal CCD3 is read and fed to the horizontal CCD7 via a transfer CCD6 and further fed to the vertical transfer line of the photosensitive section 1 whose charge is read already. The electric charge of the even number field fed to the photosensitive section 1 is driven by clocks phi1-phi4 and transferred to the horizontal CCD2 and fed to the recorder or the display device in consecution with the electric charge of the odd number field fed earlier.
