Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:N,N-Dimethyl-p-hydroxycinnamamide. USE:A drug and melanin inhibitor having improved melanin inhibitory action without any development of irritancy and allerginicity to the skin and capable of treating and improving liver spot, ephelis and pigmented parts after sunburn of the skin surface by local by application to the above-mentioned parts and returning the skin to normal color thereof and different from the conventional sunscreen agents for previously preventing the sunburn. PREPARATION:A p-acetoxycinnamoyl halide expressed by formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a secondary amine expressed by formula IV in a molar amount of twice based on the compound expressed by formula II, etc., to form a compound expressed by formula III, which is then deacetylated with a lower primary or secondary amine or NH3 in a solvent, e.g. methanol, at 0-100 deg.C to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
