Method for forming internal conductive film of cathode ray tube
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable the formation of an electrically conductive membrane of good quality by humidifying a painting brush used in applying and drying an undercoat when forming an inner conductive membranes of different resistivities on the inner wall of a funnel. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive membrane is formed on the inner surface of the funnel 1 of a cathode ray tube by applying paints of low resistance 2, 3 on its neck and cone, and applying a paint of high resistance 4, on the soft part partially overlapping the low resistance paints 2, 3. In this process, a painting brush 8 is pressed against a roll 7 to absorb paint, and a brush holding arm 9 is moved to apply the low resistance paints 2 and 3, while dry air is blown onto overlapping parts 2a and 3a to dry the paints. At the same time, the brush 8 is humidified by humid air sent from a humidifier 11 and then high resistance paint 4 is applied. By this procedure, the painting brush 8 can be prevented from drying up and defects of the conductive membrane which may be caused by dried brush can be prevented.
