Imidazole derivative

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:An imidazole derivative shown by the formula I [R<1> and R<2> are H or lower alkyl; X is H, halogen lower alkyl, etc.; Y is formyl or -CH(R<3>)-Z (R<3> is H or lower alkyl; Z is OH, lower alkoxy, etc.,) etc.]. EXAMPLE:5-(1-Imidazolyl)-2-methyl-alpha-(4-hydroxymethyl-2, 6-dimethylphen yl)-ben zenemethanol. USE:A drug having an inhibitory action on thromboxane A2 synthesis, an inhibitory action on blood platelet aggregation, etc. PREPARATION:A compound shown by the formula II (Q is halogen) is reacted with imidazole in a proper solvent in the presence of a base under heating for 1-24hr.
